DC Annual Benefit Statements are now Available

28.09.2023

2023 Annual Benefit Statements for members of the Defined Contribution Section of the Scheme are now available to view online.

It’s easy to access your statement. Click here to view the secure login screen. You will then need to enter your username, password and memorable word / PIN. If you have previously registered for access and forgotten these details, you can follow the instructions on the login screen to request a reminder of them.

If you have not previously registered for access, you will need to use the initial login credentials that we sent to you when you joined the Scheme. These have also been sent to you again in an email or letter confirming that your Benefit Statement is available to view online.

If you have any difficulty in using the web site or you have any pension related questions, please contact us.

Once you are logged in, click on ‘My Benefit Statement’ and your Benefit Statement will be displayed. You have the option to download a PDF copy if you wish.

You may notice that your Benefit Statement looks slightly different this year. We have updated it to meet the Government’s new requirement for pension scheme members to be provided with ‘simpler annual benefit statements’. Your 2023 Benefit Statement contains some new information that has not previously been included in your Benefit Statement.

We’ve also included below some answers to frequently asked questions which you may find useful.

How can I increase my contributions?

To increase your contributions, please download a Contribution Change Form from our web site, fill this in and then provide the completed form to your payroll team.

Where can I find out more information about my investment choices?

Further information on the funds that are available to invest in can be found on our website here. Information on the charges and transaction costs that apply can be found in the annual DC Chair’s Statement which you can read or download from our website. In addition, the Statement of Investment Principles (SIP) document sets out the Trustee’s policies in relation to the default investment fund offered by the Scheme and also their objectives in providing the full range of funds available. You can read or download the SIP on our website.

We recommend that you review your investment choice to make sure that it’s still right for you and when you plan to retire.

I have another pension account elsewhere, can I transfer this into the ABF Pension Scheme?

Yes you can. Please see our web site for further information on how to arrange the transfer of other pensions into the ABF Pension Scheme. If you wish to proceed, please download and fill in the transfer in form from our web site and return this to us.

How do I complete a medical declaration so that I am covered for death in service and ill health benefits?

If your Benefit Statement shows that you haven’t completed a medical declaration (see the ‘What would I leave behind?’ section of your Benefit Statement), you need to complete a medical declaration before you will be covered for the valuable death in service and ill health benefits provided by the Scheme. Further information on how to provide a medical declaration can be found on our web site.

How can I change my nominated beneficiaries?

The quickest and easiest way to update your nominated beneficiaries is via the secure login area of the Pension Scheme web site. Once logged in, select ‘My account’, then ‘Nominations’. Alternatively, you can download a Nomination Form from the Pension Scheme web site, fill this in and return to us.
